Indira Joshi plays Kamla Aunty

Kamla is Mohan’s irascible old Aunty-ji.  Confined to her bed after falling downstairs, she takes out her temper on her good-natured nephew.  She dreams of her high-society golden days, back in 1960s Bombay – whilst gloating over her hidden hoard of unbanked cash.

Indira is best known as Madhuri in the long-running BBC hit comedy series, The Kumars at No 42, starring with Meera Syal and Sanjeev Bhaskar.  She has also had roles in Life Is Not All Ha Ha Hee Hee and in the BBC’s award-winning Canterbury Tales.
